ITALIAN BEER.--- Peroni brewery founded in Vigevano Italiy in 1846.

As a teenager in the 1950s i came to Lake Garda Italy with my mother .
Then we stayed at the Hotel Centrale in Riva del Garda. This holiday in 2010 i stayed in Peschiera del
Garda at the opposite end of Lake Garda.--- On the first holiday ,after 10pm ,i heard
singing from outside, so went on the little balcony of my room .On the next balcony was
my mother,and we listened to a Male Voice Choir singing 3 verses of "Amazing Grace".
The choir was in the Square below near the Tower.I still think of this time, with the
mountain behind and the lake in front , in the nearly dark evening. That holiday was
a coach holiday that included a trip to Verona, and we saw the so called "Juliet balcony "This
time in 2010 i missed it on my trip.

The town of Peschiera del Garda as a population of 10,000. It is surrounded by a Venetion Defensive Wall. There are ferries on the lake,to other places. The rail station is on the Milan to Venice route. Train to Verona takes just 13 minutes. On leaving i took the night train to Paris with change in Milan journey time 15 hours.

I took the public bus from Peschiera to Riva del Garda by the eastern shore of the lake. Lovely views. Riva was just as i remember it. A lovely place with the Italian Alps behind it. The bus ride was just over 2 hours.

My train from Peschiera to Verona took 13 minutes. -- Verona is a medieval old town, the setting for" Romeo and Juliet" and " Gentleman of Verona " by William Shakespeare. The rail line is on the Brenner pass to Rome.--

TRIESTE ITALY.---In Piazza della Borse next to Unity Square.

--- Trieste a city in Northern Italy in a narrow strip of Italian territory,between the Adriatic
Sea and Slovena.. Croatia is 30km.,to the south. I took a ride on the Opicina Tramway. It
is a tram and funicular hybrid. The tram goes from Piazza Oberdan in Trieste to the
village of Opicina in the hills. On the steepest section the tram is pushed by cable tractor.I believe
there as been a accident and the tram may not be running.
